I'm Zubair. I build mobile products in Lahore, and they end up in the App Store.

The numbers, honestly. I've been shipping paid work since 2021. Since then, more than a hundred and seventy projects — some built from nothing, many were features added to apps somebody else started, and a fair number were fixes on code I inherited. Twenty-seven are live in the stores today. The seventeen on the portfolio page are the ones with a story worth reading.

How I actually work. I'm in Lahore, five hours ahead of London and thirteen ahead of San Francisco, and I've built for clients in fourteen countries without that being the interesting part of the project. I answer messages in about an hour during my day. You get a build you can install every week — not a status report about a build. Most of my clients have never had a call with me at an inconvenient time, because most decisions don't need one.

What I'm deep in. Flutter and Dart, five years of it. Firebase, Supabase and Node on the backend. Payments across Stripe, Klarna, in-app purchase and RevenueCat. Maps, geolocation and real-time state, which is most of what a two-sided marketplace actually is. And increasingly, multi-provider AI systems — the last two products I shipped run five and four external model services respectively, each one with somewhere to fall when it fails.

How I decide things. I'd rather spend the first week arguing about the data model than the last month working around it. When a client asks for a feature that a two-hundred-line script would solve better than an app, I say so — it's cost me work and it's why some of those clients are still here. And I assume every external service will be down at the worst possible moment, so nothing important depends on exactly one of them.

The part I'd want checked. 25 clients have hired me more than once. One has done it eight times over nine months. That's the closest thing I have to a review of the work itself, as opposed to the delivery. The full record is here.
